Ouzoud is the highest waterfall in North Africa: around a hundred and ten metres in several drops, in a gorge surrounded by olive groves.
A private departure, with time to walk down to the pool, take a boat under the spray and eat beside the water before heading back.
Pick-up at your riad or hotel in Marrakech. We bring you back to the same place in the evening.
Between 7:00 and 8:00 in the morning, depending on the season.
Around five hours of driving in total. The walk down to the base of the falls and back up is on an uneven path, so bring shoes with grip.
We leave Marrakech in the morning and head north-east into the Middle Atlas, through olive country and small farming villages.
We reach Ouzoud before midday. A path winds down through the olive groves to the foot of the falls, with viewpoints on the way. At the bottom there are small boats that take you close enough to feel the spray.
Barbary macaques live in the trees around the gorge and are easy to spot, particularly in the quieter early afternoon.
Lunch at one of the terraces overlooking the water, then the climb back up and the drive to Marrakech, arriving in the evening.
